..Ice Cream for breakfast..

This morning I got up nice and early to jump in the POOL!!
Its time to get swimming again! Its been awhile since I have been in the pool and let me just say.. It was tough work today, I couldn't hack 400m without stopping to rest. I felt a little like this...

While the guy in the lane next to me swam pretty much the whole hour I was there without stopping?! HOW??? I'm never going to be ready for the Half Ironman in August at this rate.. (p.s. I'm contemplating doing this.. call me crazy.. ) I haven't actually registered yet because I am questioning my strength, endurance, swimming claustrophopia...etc. Swimming a mile in the pool is about 36 laps . 36!!! This morning I really focused on breathing and my stroke. It took me a good 30 minutes to get back in the "wave" of things.. But felt pretty good by the end. Any swimmer tips out there? My first Tri is coming up in May!! eeek!

After swimming I came home and decided to make a protein shake for breakfast.
In the mix

  • 1 Scoop of Elite Protein
  • 1 C. Vanilla unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 Tbs almond butter
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • pinch of xanthan gum
  • lots of ice..10-12 cubes?
  • 2 handfuls of spinach

It was HUGE, thick and very much enjoyed.
So, what do you do if your smoothie is thick and won't fit in your cup..
you pour it in a bowl, and call it ice cream

don't mind if I do.

and eat a bagillion blackberries for good measure

Time to tackle my to-do list!
See you later!

  1. You'll get there! You are strong and fit, so you'll be swimming along without stopping before you know it!
