The Monday Drag.

Happy Monday!!

More on this later!
Today has been like every other Monday. Do any of you experience a bit of a drag on Mondays? After a weekend of indulgences and a big Sunday meal, It takes me a little bit to get going on Mondays. I did a short mile run before the GPP workout. The workout was “3 bars of death”. I have done this workout before and it is a tough workout to RX as is, but I wanted to give myself a little challenge to push me out of the Monday drag. I upped the weight to 105 for dead lifts, and 65pds for the power cleans and push press.
This workout with heavier weight made this a completely different workout. The little push, was more then a hard shove. It was a good challenge. I was able to use the heavy weight for 17 rounds then I decided to drop to the RX weight to finish off the last two minutes of the workout.
I made a shake before heading to the workout.

I’m really loving the plant fusion protein! In the mix I had almond milk, ice, 4 strawberries, 1 scoop of chocolate plant fusion and a a tbsp. of chia seeds- TO GO!
The rest of the day was spent catching up with all the house chores that comes up after a weekend trip. Unpacking, laundry, laundry and more laundry…
I taught body attack tonight, quad is still bugging a little bit, but it was a great class as usual.
I came straight home to make dinner, I had some grilled chicken on had so I quickly steamed some veggies on a skillet before adding the chicken and dressing.

40 sec and done.
No dirty rice cooker or burnt pan- SO simple. And tasty.
I will admit, I love cooking and I love good rice but I am NOT good at making good rice. I think I burn it every time because I can never get the water to rice ratio perfect. To dry, not cooked thoroughly, to sticky or mushy. I really hate making rice so this is as good as it gets around here.
Questions of the day:
What do you do to beat the Monday drag?
What is something you hate cooking or something you make that never turns out right?

  1. Rough workout at that higher weight. Very proud of you. How's the thigh?

Also, I know I should want to have some of that shake, but ... it's green. GREEN!

  2. Way to go on the workout! I find that a good run/workout first thing in the morning helps me beat the Monday drag...endorphin highs makes it rather difficult to be sluggish/down :)!
