Hey guys! Hope you are had a good day! I was happy to hear that I'm not the only “chain chewer” out there! Today was my second FULL day without 1 piece of gum!! I can't believe that I have gone this long.. Now, I know how my friends feel when they try to stop their diet coke thing. Ha! I can tell a difference already though, there is no bloat and I feel great! Today was a little easier but still wanted to reach for it post meals.. so lets just say, my dentist will be pleased with how often I brush. Although, I haven’t really been on a long run yet though.. (that’s when I feel that I absolutely need gum) But I may make the exception..
Till then I think I may replace the gum craving with this..
*not a low calorie food. =====> PSYCH!! It actually is.. (I just find it funny they print that on gum packages)
I was able to snap a pic of my mid afternoon meal today! Are you guys missing my daily meals? Its been awhile since I have posted them. I just think it can get a little repetitive some days. But today it was a little grilled chicken drizzled with a little honey mustard, steamed broccoli and sweet potato fries!
Always a “go to” lunch for me. I cook chicken and sweet potato fries in bulk in during the weekend so I can just grab and reheat!
I did get a little creative in the kitchen today. I wanted a post workout treat that I could bag and have on the go, but also enjoy as a little “dessert” if I want.

- 2 egg whites
- 1 whole egg
- 1 T freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/3 C. Almond milk
- 2 small bananas mashed
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees
In one bowl combine all dry ingredients
In a separate bowl mix the wet ingredients—(including mashed bananas), beat together till combined.
Pour into 8x8 glass pan
Bake for about 30 minutes till brown on top.
Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing!
Would you like that drenched in warm chocolate syrup?
Of course you do.
Chocolate Syrup
- 1 T Coconut oil
- 1/4 C. Dark Chocolate Chips
Place in the microwave for 30 seconds and stir. Continue until melted.
Note: You may add as many chocolate chips until you reach desired consistency.
Take it to go? Ditch the syrup and just keep it in a baggie till your workout is done then enjoy. I won’t tell if you take a separate baggie of chocolate chips Or just bake it with a few chocolate chips.. Now, I’m thinkin..
Have a good night!!
Q. What do you prefer Post-workout? FOOD? SHAKE? RECOVERY DRINK?
I usually reach for a shake if I'll be running errands after or something. But if not I’ll go home and have a meal that includes high protein/carb. Food seems to just satisfy me a little longer then a shake.
Awesome job on the gum!! And i just made my first batch of protein infused bars, now i want to try yours!! Usually i go for a shake
ReplyDeleteOMG That looks delicius!
ReplyDeleteDepends on the workout: after a heavy strength WOD I like protein, either in my pancake mix or in a Green Monster. After a long run, I like oatmeal. :)
ReplyDeleteYour chocolate-coconut sauce sounds so good! And easy, of course. I love easy food. In fact, I pretty much only ever make easy food.
ReplyDeleteThat protein bar looks delicious!!! I will definitely have to make that. :)
