SVH & the twins are TWO!

We got to Thayne, Wyoming just in time before packet pickup closed on Friday.

I got my packet and was geared and ready to run.
READY FOR A BIG SURPRISE!?
I decided late Friday night that I shouldn’t run the half. I am still dealing with my injured quad and last week during runs I am starting to have pain with my right foot as well. Possible bunion? So, after much debate, with friends and family I decided to give up this race. Giving up the race was hard for me because I really was looking forward to this small town fun run for awhile now. I knew if I would of ran it I could of injured myself even more and probably prevent me from running any other races for the rest of the season. There is always next year. It was a good idea to pass it up, heal and recover, besides I had an even better idea…
I asked Brent if he would like to run it. I surprised when he said yes. Actually,  I was really excited he would do it!
We woke up at 5:30 loaded up the “toddlers” ----> I guess I can’t call them babies anymore?!
It was a perfect morning!

Race start was 7 AM and our cabin was about 30 minutes away. I was able to drive Brent to the starting line. The race starts in the canyon in the Grover park, and runs right into Thayne Wyoming.

The Star Valley Marathon was created in remembrance of Jeremy Kunz, who was killed by a drunk driver. You can read more about it here.  This was only the second year of the race. It is a small race in a small town, with amazing views and perfect weather. It had rained the night before after a long, hot week and the starting line was about 65 degrees, there was a sprinkle of rain during the race.

Every mile marker there was a picture of Jeremy, the aid stations were supportive and at every 3-4 miles with water and a sports drink. Mile 8 had orange slices and bananas.
Can you believe how beautiful it is?!

The road was not closed for the race, so after I dropped Brent off I headed back to take a different route and do a drive-by shout out. I caught him at mile 6 and mile 12. The twins got so excited when they saw him running by!

I hurried to the finish line and got there just in time to run through the finish line with Brent!

He DID it!! Official times aren’t posted yet and the gun timer wasn’t working correctly but the Garmin said 1:58! For his very first half marathon! I couldn’t be more proud of him for taking this on with such short notice and little to no running since Wasatch back. He is an amazing Mountain Biker and that is his passion so cardio wise he said he felt great, his feet just got tired. He looked strong the whole time.

Bee even got to wear the “necklace”.

Great Job Babe!!!
Hopefully, one day we can do one together! You know what they say.. “The couple that runs together, stays together.” Ha ha! Brent enjoyed the run and feels great! A little sore but nothing unexpected.
After the race we headed home to celebrate these two little munchkins! After a nap of course.

We spent some time in the boat, out to eat and home for cake!
I love these babies toddlers SO much! I can’t believe it has been two years since I had them. They are growing so fast and are the happiest kids I know! (Most of the timeWinking smile)

The twins turn ONE!

I can't even believe my babies are one!

It actually hit me the other day when I was walking around the grocery store and someone asked me how old they were.. and I responded with a 1. YEAR! This past year has been a whirlwind. Its amazing to me how fast time actually goes by! You actually don't ever realize it till its to late.
The party turned out to be pretty darn fantastic.
So much preparation goes into throwing a shindig like this and I am so thankful for my family and friends that came out to help and party hardy.
I was pretty stressed the hour before the party, I had just taught pump which got done at 10 and then of course I didn't get home till about 10:30am With the party starting at noon, time was pretty tight. Lets just say we have the best neighbors in the world and an AMAZING bunch of folks I'm lucky to call family.
The PARTY went off without a HITCH!

We did a beach luau theme! Sand castle cake, with oodles of fruit and classic BBQ food-- pasta salad, a green salad, Turkey Burgers, Hamburgers, and ocean sugar cookies.. Which I failed to capture a picture off but they are up in the upper right corner.. any sugar cookie with a swedish fish on top and has blue sprinkles like the sea is okay in my book. ;)

Whats a party without a candy bar. Goldfish, Salt water Taffy, skittles, Organic vanilla animal cookies, Jelly beans, sugar babies, and swedish fish. I also gave out bubbles as a party favor.
The babies loved this water table! They played with it the whole first HOUR of the party. And that people.. is a big deal!

But to actually get them to all look at me at the same time for a picture is an impossible feat. I got B's outfit from mud pie and Tanners outfit is from Hawaii! Cutest tourist you'll ever see;)
After Play time It was time to cut the cake! I made T & B their own personal little flip flop. We sang happy birthday and after they clapped and clapped but didn't really dive into their cake.

We tried to force it upon them.

They must of known I had stayed up till 1:30am making them and messed up the recipe. I won't even tell you what I did wrong-- but apparently I can't follow recipes that late at night.. But it ended up being perfect for the flip flops!
The twins were spoiled with gifts!

lucky kiddos.

We had a great time celebrating the birth of our little twinners! That year went by waaaaay to fast.
This past year having children has changed our life completely, I constantly am chasing these two little nuggets around, one in the kitchen, one climbing the stairs, the wrestling matches to put clothes on, the tag teaming to change a diaper, crazy bath times, teething long nights, the smashing, throwing, & spitting out of food, changing theirs & MY outfit at least twice everyday. But you know what? We love it. Nothing can replace these two little miracles in our life. When they are together by themselves they laugh and gabber to each other, their slobbery wide mouth kisses, early morning snuggles, the way they reach for me when I walk into the room, their little voices calling for "mamama" or "dadada" the way they never go anywhere without the other right behind them, playing peek-a-boo can go on for hours and their smiles, grins and giggles absolutely melt my heart. late nights, early mornings, multi tasking at its finest, bottle juggling, and diaper wrestling etc. Having twins has its difficulties for sure! But we wouldn't trade them for the world! We love them SO much!
HAPPY ONE YEAR B & T!

The Big 2-5

My Birthday was great yesterday!! I had a great and busy day!! I didn't get to sleep in..  I woke up bright and early to teach a pump class.. which was a little rough cause I think I got food poisoning the night before so I'll spare you all the details..(I'm never eating out again..) but part of being a fitness instructor is having to go  into each class with a positive attitude and leaving all your problems out the door. As important as that is to do for the instructor I think EVERYONE should do that! It will make your workout better and make you feel better!
It worked! After class I felt better and was ready to celebrate!!  I came home to 3 gifts on the table!! My husband knows how to make me smile.

However, It was still really early and he and the babies were still sleeping so I decided to whip up some breakfast! Its my birthday so Ice cream smoothie was a given!
