Stretching woes

Good Morning!!
"if you think my bed head is crazy you should see my moms!"

Last night I went to bed with every intention to wake up at 5 and dive into the pool. Needless to say, The little  miss is teething and woke up twice last night so when my alarm went off I don't even remember turning it off.. Sometimes my early morning workouts don't always... work out. T slept soundly until 8am and B woke up shortly after. We ate our breakfast, they had yogurt and oatmeal and I whipped up a quick egg scramble
4 egg whites
1/2 avocado
1 c. broccoli
1/2 tomato

and shot out the door to GPP for a strength training workout. Afterwards I headed over to the local gym to use my two new best friends...

and

The Stick - Original Body Stick
I will be the first to admit.. I DO NOT stretch.. well, I do a little when I teach, I always take the class through a quick stretch at the end of the workout out.. but that is what it is.. quick.. Not near the length of time that my body requires to compensate for the amount of training that I put my body through.
Now my body is paying for it!! My tendons and muscles have fused in my hip causing pain in my IT band into my calf and down into my foot, which is causing the pain while I run...
I am not a yoga fan.. check out my workout log.. do you even see yoga? I have done it before, long long time ago...but truth be told.. I'd much rather run 20 miles then do a hour long yoga class. My mind races and I can't focus during yoga. I need to just do it. Not to mention yoga is hard.. yes, I'm going to admit it.. For me to hold certain positions, and breathe through stretches is HARD for me.. I blame my workout ADD..  After rolling for about 15 minutes I jumped on the stair climber for 30 minutes. After the climb I rolled out even more. This is injury recovery people. Taking it easy, slow and hopefully by next week I will be back to my crazy running self. Your body does need a break, with as hard as we train you need to give it what it deserves.. I big painful blue stick up the rear. A nice long stretch followed by a little foam roller action to push out lactic acid build up. I now have a new respect for the importance of stretching.. I knew it was important before to prevent injury, but never took it seriously.. NEVER again.
I had a protein shake post workout, ran a few errands and came home for a simple quick lunch.

Grilled chicken, green beans brussel sprouts with some avocado drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette

Quick and easy, That's just how I roll today.

Q. Do you take time to stretch after your workouts?

Q. Am I the only person that has a hard time with yoga? How can I learn to enjoy it?!
